55:12. ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਰਫ਼ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਹਿ ਲੈਂਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਫੁੱਲਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ,

55:12. Indeed, it is not an enemy who insults me, or else I could bear it; it is not one who hates me who arrogantly taunts me, or else I could hide from him.

55:12. It is not an enemy who taunts me-- I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me-- I could have hidden from them.

55:12. For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have borne it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him:

55:12. If it were an enemy insulting me, I could bear it. If it were my enemies attacking me, I could hide.
