49:1. ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਕੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ? ਫੇਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਲਕਾਮ ਨੇ ਗਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ? ਅਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ?

49:1. The LORD spoke about the Ammonites. "Do you think there are not any people of the nation of Israel remaining? Do you think there are not any of them remaining to reinherit their land? Is that why you people who worship the god Milcom have taken possession of the territory of Gad and live in his cities?

49:1. This message was given concerning the Ammonites. This is what the LORD says: "Are there no descendants of Israel to inherit the land of Gad? Why are you, who worship Molech, living in its towns?

49:1. Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith Jehovah: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people well in the cities thereof?
