1:6. ਤਾਂ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਸੌਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆॽ ਉੱਠ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰ! ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਦੇਵ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਾਸ ਨਾ ਹੋਈਏ!।।

1:6. The ship's captain approached him and said, "What are you doing asleep? Get up! Cry out to your god! Perhaps your god might take notice of us so that we might not die!"

1:6. So the captain went down after him. "How can you sleep at a time like this?" he shouted. "Get up and pray to your god! Maybe he will pay attention to us and spare our lives."

1:6. So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

1:6. So the captain came and said to him, "What do you mean, you sleeper? Arise, call out to your god! Perhaps the god will give a thought to us, that we may not perish."

1:6. So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

1:6. And the chief of the company draweth near to him, and saith to him, `What -- to thee, O sleeper? rise, call unto thy God, it may be God doth bethink himself of us, and we do not perish.`

1:6. The captain of the boat saw Jonah and said, "Wake up! Why are you sleeping? Pray to your god! Maybe your god will hear your prayer and save us!"

1:6. So the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your gods! Maybe the gods will notice us, so that we won\'t perish."
