18. ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਭਈ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਛਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ

18. ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਖਦਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਖਿਅਤ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ (ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ) ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
